Angel's Personality: High energy, intelligent. She needs training to correct some barking and mouthing behaviors but the trainer/behaviorist we met with says she is responsive to training. I checked unknown for gets along with dogs because when we go for walks she is very leash-reactive but she stayed with the trainer for a couple of nights and she got along okay with the other dogs there.
Angel's Current Home Environment: Busy. Our routine varies from day to day and I feel like Angel would do better in a home that has more of a consistent routine.
Angel's Current Family: My husband and I have two boys, age 7 and 10. We are on the go a lot and wanted to be able to take our dog with us when possible. However, because of her leash reactivity, it's difficult and I feel bad leaving her at home all the time.
Angel's Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities? Loves tugging on a rope, chew toys, and of course going for walks and car rides.
Cute Angel Story: We haven't had her long enough to have a story but she is a fun spirited gal.
Why is Angel Being Rehomed? After a 10 year break from teaching, I went back to work as a kindergarten teacher which is more demanding of my time and energy than I thought it would be. I've done some training with her and I see progress but I don't have the time she needs to help her reach her full potential. She's a smart girl and deserves a consistent environment that will support her training.
Angel's Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be: I feel like she would do better in a home with older kids or no kids at all. My kids seem to bring out the worst in her! I think she feeds off their energy and gets over-stimulated and then the mouthing and barking behaviors get out of hand. Plus they are too young to assist effectively with her training.
Additional Comments: We rescued her from a shelter about 2 months ago so we don't know anything about her background and we're still getting to know her personality
