Goldendoodles for Sale & Adoption
For such a new breed, Goldendoodles sure are popular. For the uninitiated, the Goldendoodle is a mix between the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. Both the Standard and Miniature Poodle can be used to produce these dogs. These pups have got the intelligence of the Poodle and the playful devotion of the Golden. They can come in a variety of colors and sizes. Since these dogs are cross breeds, the look and feel of the puppies depend entirely on the parents. Some Goldendoodles are great for those who suffer from allergies, but you'll really need to check the particular dog you're interested in buying or adopting. Again, there's a range of hypoallergenic properties at play here. Either way, these dogs are always playful, sweet, and devoted members of the family.

Popularity: Somewhat popular.
Trainability: If you're a first time pet owner and are looking for an exceptionally easy dog to train, the the Goldendoodle may be the dog for you. This breed is super intelligent and when that intelligence is combined with training efforts, it sets up the perfect scenario. When going about your training of this dog, remember that positive reinforcement and treats for a job well done are much more effective than scolding and berating. That's true when it comes to training any dog. Make training fun and be sure to praise the Goldendoodle when they succeed at a task. Overall, this dog is good natured and quick to learn, so you shouldn't have any problem with teaching it how to behave well around you and your family.
Size/Weight: Medium sized dogs, weighing in at an average of 50-90 pounds.
Origin Location/Date: We don't actually know where this designer breed of dog came from or when it was first bred. Some claim that a woman began breeding the Goldendoodle way back in the 1960s, but others claim that this breed sprung up and became the dog we know and love today back in the 1990s. Either way, most can agree on the fact that the Goldendoodle came about during the "Doodle" craze that began and still continues today in the United States.
Energy Level: The Goldendoodle isn't super active, but it's not lazy either. If you've seen how a Golden Retriever or a Labrador Retriever acts, you have seen how a Goldendoodle acts. While this hod has absolutely no problem with jumping up on the couch to sleep for hours on end, it'll jump right back down and run around like crazy when it's time to go outside to play. This breed requires daily exercise in the form of good long walks and playtime in the back yard or in the park. Play with the dog until it gets tired and it'll have a nice night's sleep. These dogs especially love swimming and chasing balls that are thrown for them.
Temperament: While the Goldendoodle is a fun loving and affectionate dog, those traits vary, depending on who the parents were. This is true especially when it comes to who the mother was and how she acts or acted. Also, socialization and early training comes into play, but really, you'll be hard pressed to find a mean Goldendoodle. In general, these are friendly pets that are great around families are that are especially careful around small children and toddlers.
Necessary Space: While larger homes with huge yards outside are ideal for a dog this size to live in and to play in, the Goldendoodle will do well in city apartment living as well. As long as they get their daily walks and playtime, they should be fine in almost any setting.
Talents: The Goldendoodle thrives when it comes time to train. It's an intelligent breed and it responds very well to a talented trainer who can bring the best out of the dog. It's also especially companionable and a wonderful family dog.
Life Expectancy: 10-15 years.
Group: Mix - Not Applicable.
