We have a light ebony male chinchilla who's looking for a home. He came to NWI not long ago, and we have that he was born recently, which makes him 2.5 months old. Great time to take him home!
This male is a light / medium ebony. This means that he is a charcoal grey color all over his body, including his belly. He is darker on his back, and lightens up on his side. Very pretty color gradient.
He is a curious little guy! Definitely wants to check out everything around him! He can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to pick him up, as hes not even paying attention to what you're doing, hes just exploring! He does alright with being handled and petted, that's just not his goal in life, he wants to be an explorer! More handling and more time to grow up could definitely help this, as he is still quite young, but for the moment, there are things that are so much more exciting than being handled! Super sweet boy, super curious. Doesn't bite.
He would make a great first chinchilla for someone who's never had one before, as long as they understand that he definitely more active than your average chinchilla.
This chinchilla is currently caged alone. However, if you interested in pairing him up with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and well see what we can do.
This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (Tradition pellets), a goodie bag of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.
Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
