⋒ Welcome to Fairy Trail Rabbitry where your new furry best friend is always a part of our family ⋒
A small indoor holland lop rabbitry in the heart of kentucky, where our buns are loved & spoiled as a part of the family before they join yours!

Who are we?
Fairy Trail Rabbitry is a very small, family-run, indoor holland lop rabbitry in Richmond, KY. Our buns are all our beloved pets first and are hand raised around small dogs and cats. Here at Fairy Trail Rabbity we treat our bunnies like members of the family and strive to give them the highest quality of care possible! ♡ Our Holland Lops are purebred and pedigreed and our parent buns have been selected foremost for extraordinarily friendly personalities as well as excellent health and conformation. We also have Holland Lops in a variety of colors and specialize in raising vm Holland Lops (vienna marked) with stunning bright blue eyes as well as other unique color combinations.

What is our mission?
We are dedicated to raising happy, healthy, and highly socialized Holland Lop bunnies primarily for incredibly loving indoor pet homes! We are also looking to help spread awareness about proper rabbit care and to provide resources for both new and experienced bunny parents to give their bun the best, most binkyful life they can. We do this through our comprehensive bunny care guide which is aimed at providing basic information on rabbit diet, enclosures/free roaming, enrichment, toys, litter box training etc. and our educational rabbit blog which goes more into depth on specific topics, recommended product reviews, diys, and helpful guides, tips, and tricks. I am continuously working on developing these resources more and invest countless hours in research to make sure our information is the most up to date and helpful it can be!

Our Setup
All of our bunnies live in our home as beloved pets and each have their own spacious pen setup that is at least 16 sqft. Our mama buns have larger spaces that are 24+ sqft so the babies will have plenty of room to hop around and binky! They also have lots of soft blankets and rugs for traction/comfort, plenty of fresh water in large ceramic bowls, unlimited quality timothy hay, large cat litter boxes, hideouts and enrichment opportunities. We love to spoil our buns with tons of toys & treats! We also give them supervised free roam time in our home. We want all of our bunnies to be well acquainted with the house bunny lifestyle.

The Fairy Trail Difference
We hand raise all of our babies from day one so they will be used to being loved on and spoiled with tons of attention! This means from the day they are born we are holding, petting, and snuggling them and getting them used to human touch. We love to watch movies while cuddling our little ones or even just to give them extra head rubs whenever we walk past their pens. We believe this is an integral part in developing trust with our babies and helping their super sweet personalities flourish, especially since bunnies are prey animals and can be slow to trust people. By holding and snuggling them from a young age we are able to help them learn to trust and love human affection! Our buns are raised in our home so they are around household noises vacuuming, music, talking, etc. 24/7 and are very used to being around people and home life as a result. They are also introduced to our other pets, small dogs and cats, during supervised playtimes, and are started on litter box training as soon as they come out of the nestbox so they are usually very proficient with it by the time they go to their forever homes. Of course they will likely need more positive encouragement in a new environment and will need to be spayed/neutered to help solidify their litter box training, but we believe this helps to give them a jump start to the pet house rabbit life! ♡

How to adopt a Holland Lop bunny from Fairy Trail Rabbitry?
If you are interested in adopting a bunny from our family, we have a quick adoption application that we require all potential families to fill out. This is to help ensure that our buns get safe loving homes that will provide them with the same level of care as we do. It also helps us to get to know you more and help match you with the bunny that would be the perfect addition to your family! ♡ After you have completed the application, please send us a message either through text at (859) 320-7653 or email at fairytrailrabbitry@gmail.com and we will get back to you if you sound like a good fit for one of our buns and then continue the conversation from there! We always offer lifetime support to our bunny homes and absolutely love to stay in touch and receive updates on our bunnies! This means that if you ever have any questions about bunny care or anything, you can reach out to us and I will always be happy to help and do my best to answer them or help you find an answer if I don't already know one.

Transport Options
What if you want to adopt a Fairy Trail bun but are too far away to make the drive? We offer several transport options! Our bunny's health and safety is our number one priority so we will only work with reputable private transporters such as someone from Citizenshipper or uShip that will only be transporting our bun(s) and will make a direct trip from us to you to minimize the stress of travel on our bun(s). If flying in to pick up your bunny is something you would like to consider, we do offer pickup nearby the airport in Lexington, KY and can get a healthy certificate from our local rabbit vet. The cost of this is usually around $100 and we ask that you pay it if you are interested in flying with your bunny. Alaska Airlines allows bunnies to fly in cabin (which is the only way we will allow our buns to fly since it is much less stressful for them) rather than cargo. You will need to call them ahead of time to make reserve a spot for your bunny on the plane and make sure you have the correct size/type of carrier and any other necessary documents, etc. We have bunnies living all over the world and are always happy to help if you have any questions or concerns so please feel free to reach out!

About the Holland Lop breed?
We started breeding Holland Lops in 2019 and have been absolutely in love with them ever since! The Holland Lop is the smallest breed of lop rabbit and usually gets to be about 3-4 pounds full grown, although they can also be a little bigger or smaller. They are full of personality and make amazing house pets and free roam bunnies! They are known to have sweet and gentle temperaments. Every bunny has their own personality and some are more snuggly, while others prefer to be on the ground running, exploring, or playing with toys and others will be a mix of the two! Holland Lops are also very intelligent and can learn to use a litter box and can even learn tricks! They love and need lots of attention and enrichment to keep from getting bored since they are curious animals by nature. Several of our Holland Lops will follow us around the house, give kisses, and behave like little dogs. They can be incredibly wonderful pets with the proper care and handling and can make amazing ESA companions! ♡
