Shiba Inu Puppies for Sale in Fortuna, California

I have 4 brown Shiba Inu Puppies that were born on February 15, 2026. They will be ready for new homes around the middle of April. They will be up to date on vaccines and come with a veterinary health check. There are two males, Case and Casper. Case is the biggest puppy in the litter and is very friendly. Casper is the smallest puppy and very active. He was the first out of the kennel and is usually the first to come running and try to play. The two females are Calli and Cami. Calli is more mild tempered but still enjoys playing. Cami is the shy puppy and it takes a bit of coaxing to win her over. But she sure likes to cuddle once you've won her trust!

We are asking $500 each for them. We prefer local pickup but we are open to shipping if you make the arrangements. Also, we will deliver up to 200 miles for a fee.

The Akita: What You Need to Know Before You Bring One Home

The Akita is a Japanese national treasure, and once you own one, you’ll see why. They’re breathtakingly beautiful and have a presence that commands the room. But they aren't Labradors—they don't live to please you; they live to protect you.

Before you browse the available pups in our .US classifieds, let's break down the essentials.

1. What’s the "true" Akita temperament?

Akitas are "thinkers." They’re famously quiet, often called "silent hunters," and they don't bark unless there’s a legitimate reason. In the house, they’re usually calm and cat-like, cleaning themselves and watching everything with those dark, triangular eyes.

However, they’re incredibly protective. To an Akita, there are two types of people: "The Family" and "Everyone Else." They’re intensely devoted to their inner circle but can be aloof or even suspicious of strangers. If you want a dog that’s going to run up and lick every person at the park, this isn't the one.

2. Is there a difference between "Japanese" and "American" Akitas?

Yes, and it’s a big one! When you're looking at listings on our .US websites, you’ll mostly see the American Akita. They’re heavier, more "bear-like," and come in any color. The Japanese Akita Inu is finer-boned, more "fox-like," and only comes in specific colors like red, brindle, or white.

While they share many traits, American Akitas tend to be a bit larger and more imposing, while the Japanese strain is often described as slightly more "primitive" in behavior. Make sure you know which look and lineage you’re after!

3. How much do they actually shed?

A lot. Like, "you could build a second dog out of the fur" a lot. Akitas have a thick double coat designed for freezing Japanese mountains. They "blow" their coat twice a year—usually in the spring and fall—and during those weeks, you’ll find clumps of fur in places you didn't know existed.

The rest of the year, they’re moderate shedders. If you’re a "clean freak" or have allergies, an Akita might be a tough sell. You’ll definitely want to invest in a high-quality vacuum before the puppy arrives.

4. Are they good with kids?

Akitas can be wonderful family dogs, but they’re better suited for families with older children who understand how to respect a dog's boundaries. They aren't the type of dog that enjoys being climbed on or having their ears pulled.

Because of their size and strength, they can accidentally knock over a toddler during play. If you have kids, look for a breeder who has socialized the pups with children from day one, and always supervise their interactions.

5. Can they live with other pets?

This is where you need to be careful. Akitas often have a high "prey drive" and can be "same-sex aggressive." This means a male Akita might not appreciate another male dog in his space.

Many Akita owners find success by having a male/female pair, but bringing an Akita into a home with cats or small "pocket pets" requires a lot of caution and early training. They were bred to hunt bears, after all—a running cat looks a lot like prey to them.

6. Are they hard to train?

They’re smart, but they’re stubborn. An Akita will hear your command, think about it for a second, and decide if it’s worth their time. They don't have that "I’ll do anything for a biscuit" attitude that some breeds have.

Training requires a "firm but fair" hand. You can't bully an Akita into obeying; you have to earn their respect. Consistent, positive reinforcement is the way to go. If you’re a first-time dog owner, I highly recommend signing up for professional obedience classes immediately.

7. How much exercise do they need?

Surprisingly, they aren't high-octane athletes like the Aussiedoodle. A couple of long, brisk walks a day and some playtime in a fenced yard are usually enough to keep them happy. They’re "sprinters," not marathon runners. After a good walk, they’re perfectly content to spend the rest of the day snoozing at your feet (or guarding the front door).

8. What health issues are common?

Akitas are generally sturdy, but like all large breeds, they have a few "Achilles heels."

  • Bloat (GDV): This is a life-threatening stomach condition. It’s vital to learn the signs and how to prevent it.
  • Hip Dysplasia: Common in big dogs.
  • Hypothyroidism: Can lead to skin issues and weight gain.
  • Sebaceous Adenitis: A skin condition specific to the breed.

Ask your seller if the parents have had their hips and thyroid checked!

9. Do they bark a lot?

Nope! They’re one of the quietest breeds out there. If an Akita is barking, you should probably go see what’s happening. They’re "discriminatory barkers," meaning they only make noise when they feel it’s absolutely necessary. This makes them great for people who hate "yappy" dogs, but it also means they’re very effective at sneaking up on things.

10. What should I look for in an Akita listing?

When you're scrolling through the ads on our .US site, look for breeders who emphasize socialization. An Akita that hasn't seen the world by 4 months old can become overly fearful or aggressive.

  • Ask if the puppy has been around other dogs.
  • Check if the parents have "stable" temperaments.
  • A good breeder will want to know about your fence—Akitas are "escape artists" and need a secure, high fence to keep them safe.
Think you’re ready for an Akita? Check out the listings below and see if your new protector is waiting for you!

So You Want an Aussiedoodle? Read This Before You Buy

Thinking about adding an Aussiedoodle to your crew? You’re in good company. These guys have exploded in popularity across the US lately, and for good reason. They’re basically "Einstein in a fur coat." But before you fall in love with those soulful eyes in the listings below, let’s talk about what life with an "Aussie-poo" is actually like.

I’ve pulled together the top 10 things people are constantly searching for, answered with a bit of "real world" experience.

1. What’s the "vibe" of an Aussiedoodle?

If you want a dog that’s going to chill on the porch all day, keep moving—this isn't the breed for you. The Aussiedoodle is a mix of two of the world's most intense workaholics: the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle.

Their temperament is best described as "intense affection." They don't just like you; they want to be you. Expect a 50-pound shadow following you into the bathroom, leaning against your legs while you make coffee, and staring at you with eerie intelligence. They’re goofy, incredibly sweet, and usually pretty "soft" (meaning they’re sensitive to your mood). If you’re sad, they’ll know it before you do.

2. Is the "hypoallergenic" thing a myth?

Okay, let’s get real about the "doodle" coat. Most people want them because they don't want dog hair on their clothes. While it's true that most Aussiedoodles shed significantly less than a purebred Aussie, there’s no such thing as a 100% hypoallergenic dog.

If you have severe allergies, look for an F1b (that’s a cross between an Aussiedoodle and a Poodle). Since they're 75% Poodle, they're much more likely to have that tight, curly coat that traps dander. If you get a pup with a "flat coat" or a "wavy coat," you’re still going to find some hair on your couch. Always ask the breeder about the coat type before committing!

3. How much "crazy" am I signing up for? (Exercise)

Aussiedoodles have a "motor" that just doesn't quit. We aren't talking about a casual stroll around the block. These dogs need a job. If you don't give them one, they’ll choose a job themselves—usually "deconstructing the drywall" or "herding the cat."

Plan on at least an hour of hard exercise daily. I’m talking fetch, hiking, or agility. But here’s the secret: Physical exercise isn't enough. You have to tire out their brains, too. Puzzles, nose-work, or learning new tricks are mandatory if you want a calm dog in the evening.

4. Are they actually "easy" to train?

They’re too easy to train. That’s the problem. An Aussiedoodle will learn a command in three tries, but they’ll also learn that if they bark at the cupboard, you’ll eventually give them a treat just to shut them up.

They’re manipulative little geniuses. You’ve got to stay one step ahead of them. Use positive reinforcement (treats and praise go a long way), but keep the sessions short and varied. If they think they’re smarter than you—and they might be—they’ll start making their own rules.

5. What health issues should I watch out for?

When you're looking through the listings on our .US site, don't be afraid to grill the sellers on health testing. Since they're a crossbreed, they can get the "best of both worlds," but they can also inherit the worst.

The big ones are Hip Dysplasia and Cataracts. There’s also something called the MDR1 mutation, which makes them super sensitive to certain common medications (like some flea/tick meds). A reputable breeder will have tested the parents for these specific things. If a seller says "they’re a mutt, they don't have health problems," that’s a red flag.

6. How big do they get?

This is the "Wild West" of the doodle world. Because Poodles come in Toy, Miniature, and Standard sizes, Aussiedoodles are all over the map.

  • Toy: 10–20 lbs (Great for apartments, but still high energy).
  • Mini: 20–45 lbs (The "Goldilocks" size for most families).
  • Standard: 50–70+ lbs (Big, bouncy, and takes up the whole couch).

Always check the weight of the parents, but keep in mind that a Standard Aussie mixed with a Mini Poodle can result in some surprising "middle-weight" pups.

7. What’s the deal with grooming?

If you hate brushing, turn back now. The Aussiedoodle coat is beautiful, but it’s high-maintenance. It’s a mix of hair and wool, which means it mats easily. If those mats get close to the skin, it’s painful for the dog.

You’ll need to brush them thoroughly 3 times a week and visit a professional groomer every 6 to 8 weeks. Budget for this! A full "groom" for a Standard Aussiedoodle isn't cheap. Pro tip: Ask your groomer for a "teddy bear cut" or a "puppy cut" to keep things manageable.

8. Do they play well with others?

Usually, yes. They’re social butterflies. They tend to love other dogs and are generally very gentle with children. However—and this is a big "however"—that Australian Shepherd DNA is strong. They have a natural urge to herd. Don't be surprised if your puppy tries to "gather" your toddlers by nipping at their heels or bumping them with their nose. It’s not mean-spirited; they’re just trying to keep the "flock" together.

9. Can I keep one in an apartment?

You can, but you'd better be active. An Aussiedoodle in an apartment is like a Ferrari in a school zone—it wants to go! As long as you’re committed to those long walks and park trips, they can adapt to smaller spaces. They aren't typically "nuisance barkers," but they will definitely let you know if someone is at the door.

10. What should I ask the person I'm buying from?

Since you're browsing our classifieds, we want you to have a great experience. Don't just ask "is the puppy available?" Ask:

  • "What are the temperaments of the parents?"
  • "Have the parents been tested for Hip Dysplasia and MDR1?"
  • "What kind of socialization have the puppies had so far?"
  • "What generation is this? (F1, F1b, F2?)"
A good seller will be happy to answer these. They care where their pups are going.

Ready to meet your new best friend? Take a look at the Aussiedoodle listings on our .US site and reach out to some of the breeders. If you have more questions, feel free to start a new thread here in the forum!

2 Cats for Sale - Havana Gray Mix

I have 2 cats that are up for adoption.

Snowball (black male)
Charcoal (white female)
Havana gray, 2 1/2 years old.

Im very sad to get rid of them, but we have to. My wife and I have a newborn daughter, and she is reacting to them.
They are the best cats that I’ve ever known. Charcoal (white one) is super cuddly, low maintenance, and loving. She’s very relaxed, and she loves to sit on your lap and get snuggles.
Snowball (black one) is extremely friendly, playful, and affectionate. You can give him attention 24/7 and he wouldn’t get tired of it. He loves to hang out on my shoulder as I do things around the house, play with anything, and have fun.

They are both OK around other cats. Snowball will take a little bit to get comfortable around another male, but he’s done it a few times before, and he makes friends with them eventually.
They have never been around a dog, so I don’t know how they would handle that.

Neither one is aggressive or violent. I’ve only been scratched a few times, and it was an accident while they were playing.

These two cats are siblings, and they have been with each other for their entire life. They are best buddies. I really really don’t want to separate them, so they are a packaged deal.

They are both fully vaccinated and fixed, and we have all of their paperwork.

Asking 100 for both. They’ll come with a carrier (you will need to bring a second) and their leftover wet food and dry food. Snowball needs sensitive stomach food.

If you’re interested, please reach out!
