I have a pair of heterozygous Ball Pythons. Both are approximately two years old. I rescued them from a neglectful environment, where they were never handled and not fed on a regular basis. Both need patience and affection from an EXPERIENCED owner. BY NO MEANS SHOULD THEY BE PETS FOR CHILDREN Female "Meredith" eats two mice every other week, and is quite testy about having her head touched. Male "Chief" eats one mouse every other week, and has more of an issue about being handled than Meredith. Neither will eat with an audience, and Chief eats best enclosed in a cardboard box. Feeding frequency can increase, but should be done slowly. Both need to grow larger before they can be bred, and MUST go as a pair. For the past six months they have been sharing a 50 Gal tank, and they co-exist quite nicely, but they need a hideaway to spend time in.
